I got the impression that someone got a bit too much impressed by that Mikrotik piece of HW - while not really knowing too much about networking and network security as such. If you require any details please let me know. Does someone know what step I am missing or can someone please guide me on doing this setup from scratch? I cant seem to find a google result that explains it in a way I can understand. I have setup the NAT rule for masquerade but still no internet access.
However when I add these details to the mikrotik router it still does not get any internet access. The default gateway of the current SME server box is 197.245.230.177 and it's IP as seen by the ISP router is 197.245.230.178 We are trying to do away with the SME box however I have tried to setup the mikrotik to provide internet to the building but failed. SME Server 9.2 Box which provides dhcp/firewalling/VPN and internet from the ISP router to the rest of the building. ISP Fibre router which provides an internet link into the building -> This is how the network is setup at the moment: I am trying to setup a mikrotik router to provide internet access and be a firewall at a client.
